Answers
What is %%username%%?
If you see something that looks like %% username %% you do not have to do anything
to it. This is a diaryland variable that will automatically put in your username
for you!

Can I edit a template?
You may edit the colors, pictures, backgrounds, words, etc. on your template
however you like. I don't care what you do, just keep my link up!

Will you make me a custom template?
I do not do custom work. No time, no motivation. If you would like to see me
make something with a particular theme, then contact me, or make a Suggestion.
If I get around to it, I will do it. If you would
like me to contact you if I ever make a template with your suggested theme just
let me know, and I will.

Do you have a diary?

What do you use to make templates?
Back in the day just NotePad and Photoshop 6.0. Now it's EditPad, Photoshop
6.0, Dreamweaver 4, and ImageReady 3.0.

Why didn't my older entries change to the new layout (diaryland
users only)?
"When you change your template only the entries page gets updated instantly.
Your older entries get put into a queue for a program that runs on the server
that will go through and update your older entries templates one by one, that's
why it takes a little longer. It is done this way to avoid the server getting
overwhelmed." -taken from the diaryland FAQ pages.

Where did your old templates go?

How do you do those scrolling box things?
There is a complete tutorial located here, but here is how to do it in a nutshell:
<div style="width: 200px; height: 100px; overflow: auto; ">ALL
THE TEXT/HTML/ETC. THAT YOU WANT TO HAVE SCROLLING IN A LITTLE BOX GOES HERE</div>
You change the size of the box with "width: 200px; height: 100px;...."
The above code looks like this:
ALL THE TEXT/HTML/ETC.

Why don't my links work?
Because you have to edit them!
Open up the index.html page in notepad by right-clicking on it, and navigate
to "open with". In the slide out window, if you do not see "notepad"
then click on "choose program" and select "notepad".
Go to the section that looks something like this:
<!--HERE ARE YOUR LINKS feel free to add/subtract/re-arrange. if you want
to subtract a link, just remove the entire line that the link is in.-->
<a href="index.html">Index</a><br>
<a href="older.html">Archives</a><br>
<a href="http://members.diaryland.com/edit/profile.phtml?user=%%username%%">Profile</a><br>
<a href="mailto:%%username%%@diaryland.com">eMail</a><br>
<a href="http://%%username%%.signmyguestbook.com">Guestbook</a><br>
<a href="http://members.diaryland.com/edit/notes.phtml?user=%%username%%">Notes</a><br>
<a href="http://www.diaryland.com">Host</a><br>

When you sign up for a diaryland account, any mail sent to USERNAME@diaryland.com
will be redirected to the email address you gave diaryland. If this doesn't
work for you, then change %%username%%@diaryland.com to your eMail address.
Otherwise, you don't have to change this at all.
If your diaryland username and signmyguestbook.com username do not match, or
you don't have a signmyguestbook.com guestbook, then change %%username%% to
your username. If you have another guestbook, find the address, and change http://%%username%%.signmyguestbook.com
to the address of that guestbook. Otherwise, you don't have to change this part
either.
Remember: %%username%% is a diaryland varible like %%perv%% or %%entry%%, it
inserts your diaryland.com username for you!
